Ticket Scalping Sucks

TICKET SCALPING SUCKS

Are you tired of being priced out of concerts and sports games? Or are you angry at scalpers with stratospheric prices? Do you want to see your favorite band - without mortgaging your first born? Are you an entertainer who is frustrated that ticket scalpers are taking your hard earned money? Then join our fight stop ticket scalping and help put fans first.

New York State Campaign

Under the influence of powerful lobbyists employed by the NY Yankees, Mets and other corporate entertainment companies, the New York State legislature repealed New York State's anti-ticket scalping law in 2007. As a result ticket scalping has gone through the roof in New York State and across the nation.

Just take a look around the Internet and you will see tickets for every concert, sporting event or theater performance for sale at extraordinary prices. The prices have left many fans unable to afford to enjoy the artists and athletes that they enjoy. Phish tickets are marked up from $49 to $450. Bruce Springsteen tickets are marked up from $75 to $1,500 and much more. Yankee tickets are marked up from $25 to $100 and that is just the cheap seats.

Well it is time to fight back.
The law adopted in 2007 contained a sunset provision requiring it to be reauthorized after two years. The deadline for the laws re-authorization is June 1st 2009. By preventing the laws re-authorization we can bring back the ticket scalping ban and protect the rights of fans.
